Doctrine Sermon 6 - Providence
Church on the Corner 17th October 2010.
One technical note - I had a good discussion about the use of the word 'Random' in the sermon, and it turns out that the word has a more absolute meaning within a scientific context than its common use suggests. What I describe as random events are perhaps better described as natural events which occur within the framework of the system of creation - they are systemic in the same way we described the systemic outworking of sin - they are the natural consequences of a decaying natural world. They are not random in the pure sense, but our experience of them will often feel random in the sense of their non-predictability.
