Kendal Mountain Film Festival
Just got back from the Kendal Mountain Film Festival.
48 hours back in the Lake district were really refreshing, and sort of reminded me where I come from.
Inspiring films and a great crowd of people; the highlights included Didier Berthod in the film First Ascent reflecting on his motivation for climbing and his struggle with his ego. "On the Road with the Red God" was an amazing documentary about Nepali Buddhist ritual & community. Synergy Freeride was a bunch of seasoneers in Chamonix which had obvious appeal. And Chris Bonnington reflecting on Don Whillans life was an amazing panorama of climbing history. The voice overs in the new Don Whillans film were a bit embarrasing, but 'The Villan' can out of it really well.
Lovely weekend, and only 4 hours each way - amazing - the Lakes are not as far as you think!
