Grown up Christianity. We are sure what we are not, but less and less sure what we are. And yet we have wisdom, Godly wisdom from many years of travelling the road, struggling, falling, highs and lows. That wisdom makes us humble, no longer the nave enthusiasm of youth, but it also shakes our confidence. Who am I to do this, what have I got to offer? And yet it is obvious (now we see it) that these very disqualifications are the qualification of service. I am not able to serve my God because I am strong and gifted, but because I know that I am weak and fallen. That humiliation is the humility we need.

We know something of the gospel, through ten years experience, ten years experience of Grace Gods goodness to those who deserve it least, of mercy forgiveness of the multitude of sin and idolatry. We can testify to the emptiness of life without God, the work of the spirit drawing us back to himself.
